The BACS was created to be easily used by medical professionals such as psychiatric nurses, clinicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals.

Description
The Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioral ALS screen (ECAS) is a multi-domain brief assessment, developed to detect the specific cognitive and behavioral changes that may occur among patients of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and some motor neuron disease. The assessment includes tests of executive functions, language fluency, memory and visuospatial functions. In addition, a separate section for behavior abnormalities to be filled by interviewing a carer/informant. The form is to be filled by the help of healthcare professional with either written or spoken responses.
