Description

Description
A liver disease-specific questionnaire that contains 24 items, which investigate the severity of symptoms among patients with liver disease. Nine items assess the severity of symptoms: itch, joint pain, right upper abdominal pain, sleepiness during the day, worry about family situation, decreased appetite, depression, fear of liver disease complications and jaundice. The other nine items assess how the symptoms influence patients’ daily activities. The last six items measure the severity of memory problems, change in personality, hindrance in financial affairs, daily time management, decreased sexual interest and decreased sexual activity.

The REALM-R is a brief screening instrument used to assess an adult patient’s ability to read common medical words.
