Acronym
AIS

Description
The Acceptance of Illness Scale (AIS) was developed by Felton and Revenson. The scale consists of eight items, which measure patient coping strategies with the disease in terms of accommodating limitations imposed by the illness, negative self-value caused by the disease, and thoughts that others are uncomfortable being around patients because of the disease. The patient rates each item 1 to 5, where 1 represents full agreement and 5 represents full disagreement. This generates a scale ranging from 8 to 40 points; a score of 8 indicates extremely low acceptance of the disease, and 40 extremely high acceptance.

Acronym
(TAS-Ar)

Description
To assess work/sport activities, Tegner and Lysholm developed a patient-reported questionnaire known as the Tegner activity scale (TAS). The TAS provides a list of 11 levels of grading work and sport activities for patients to choose from, ranging from 0, which represents sick leave or disability pension because of knee problems, to 10, which corresponds to participation in national and international elite competitive sports. The TAS is reliable, valid, and responsive for assessing activity levels in patients with ACL injuries. In addition, this is a short single-page scale that can be easily applied. TAS is one of the most frequently used scales in ACL-related studies to document the level of work/sport activities of patients with ACL injury and ACLR
