DPET

Description
Bond and Tichy (2007) originally developed the Disaster Preparedness Evaluation Tool© to assess the preparedness of Nurse Practitioners for disasters. The instrument was designed to measure Nurse Practitioner’s knowledge and skills regarding disaster/post disaster response and management.The DPET consists of 68 items; 25 items relate to predisaster preparedness, 16 items relate to mitigation, six items relate to the debriefing stage of a disaster response and 21 are openended questions regarding demographic data.

In quality of life questionnaires the experience of impairments, dysfunction or social handicaps can be formulated either in the actual mode (e.g. is the patient incontinent) or from the experienced burden perspective (e.g. to what extent is the patient able to control the discharge of urine and faeces voluntarily). In the CDS the level of care dependency is formulated from the experienced burden perspective.

Description
A comprehensive needs assessment tool for use by professionals working with the elderly. It was developed from the Camberwell Assessment of Need (CAN) to incorporate the special needs posed by the elderly. Twenty-four areas of individual need are assessed by the CANE, as well as two questions to assess the needs of the person’s carer.A summary of met and unmet needs is then produced from the information gathered, which can lead directly to possible interventions and care plans.
