Acronym
STAXI

Description
The STAXI contains 44 items measuring state anger (10 items), trait anger (10 items) and three anger expression factors: anger in (AI; eight items), anger out (AO; eight items) and anger control (AC; eight items).9 These scales assess how individuals generally react or behave when they feel angry: trait anger measures how prone individuals are to experiencing anger, while AI assesses how frequently an individual suppresses their anger, AO gauges how often an individual expresses their anger towards other people and AC determines how often an individual tries to regulate their anger. A general index of anger expression can also be calculated from anger expression factors (i.e. AI plus AO minus AC plus 16).
