Measure of parents’ fever management practices; practices based on phobic beliefs. These unnecessary practices can significantly increase parents’ burden of care when caring for a febrile child. This instrument explores parents’ practices when their child is febrile on a 5-point Likert scale (1 = Never, 2 = Rarely, 3 = Sometimes, 4 = Mostly, 5 = Always). Description
The REALM-R is a brief screening instrument used to assess an adult patient’s ability to read common medical words. It is designed to assist medical professionals in identifying patients at risk for poor literacy skills. The REALM-R is a word recognition test – not a reading comprehension instrument. Adults are asked to de-code or pronounce words. The test takes less than 2 minutes to administer and score.

Description
A comprehensive needs assessment tool for use by professionals working with the elderly. It was developed from the Camberwell Assessment of Need (CAN) to incorporate the special needs posed by the elderly. Twenty-four areas of individual need are assessed by the CANE, as well as two questions to assess the needs of the person’s carer.A summary of met and unmet needs is then produced from the information gathered, which can lead directly to possible interventions and care plans.
